Med Spa Marketing

I want you to try something right now.
Open ChatGPT on your phone. Type this exact prompt:
“What’s the best med spa in Cedar Park, Texas for Botox?”
Read the answer. Slowly.
Is your practice named? Or is it your competitor — the one with fewer reviews, less experience, and half your patient volume — getting the recommendation?
If you’re like most med spa owners we’ve talked to, the answer is painful. And that pain is costing you real money every single day.
We recently conducted AI visibility audits on every major med spa in the Cedar Park, Austin, and Round Rock area. What we found was stunning — but not in a good way.
Here’s the data:
Let me put that in dollar terms.
If just one patient per week finds your competitor through AI search instead of you, and that patient has an average lifetime value of $3,600 (the industry average for a recurring Botox patient), that’s $187,200 per year in revenue walking into someone else’s practice.
Not because they’re better. Because they showed up and you didn’t.
Here’s what most med spa owners don’t understand: AI tools don’t work like Google.
Google crawls your website and ranks it based on keywords, backlinks, and technical factors. AI tools do something fundamentally different. They synthesize information from hundreds of sources — your website, Google reviews, Yelp, RealSelf, local directories, news articles — and generate a fresh recommendation from scratch.
That means the reasons you’re invisible to AI are probably not the reasons you’d guess.
Structured data is machine-readable code on your website that tells AI tools: “This is a medical spa. It’s located at this address. It offers these specific treatments at these price points. Patients rate it 5.0 stars based on 255 reviews.”
Without it, AI has to infer all of this from your website copy. And your website copy was written to sound beautiful and convert visitors — not to feed data to a language model.
Here’s a stat that should make you take action today: 65% of all pages cited by AI tools include structured data markup. Your website almost certainly doesn’t have any.
This is the single highest-ROI fix in all of LLMO. Nothing else comes close.
Your service pages probably say things like:
“Transform your look with our expert Botox treatments in a luxurious, relaxing setting.”
That’s great conversion copy. But AI doesn’t cite it, because it doesn’t actually answer anything.
Here’s what AI wants to cite:
“Botox treatments at [Your Practice] in Cedar Park typically cost $12-14 per unit, with most patients needing 20-40 units for common treatment areas. A standard forehead and crow’s feet treatment costs between $300-$600. Results are visible within 3-5 days and typically last 3-4 months.”
See the difference? The first version sells. The second version answers — and then sells by demonstrating expertise. AI tools will quote the second version verbatim. The first version gets ignored.
This one is almost criminal in how easy it is to fix — and how few med spas have done it.
When someone asks ChatGPT “How much does lip filler cost in Cedar Park?” or “What’s the recovery time for Botox?”, the AI is looking for a clear, authoritative answer. A FAQ page with proper schema markup is exactly what it wants to cite.
You know these questions. Your front desk answers them fifty times a week. Put them on your website in FAQ format with schema markup, and you’ve just handed AI a gift-wrapped reason to recommend you.
AI cross-references multiple sources before recommending a business. If your practice shows up on Google and Yelp but is missing from RealSelf, Healthgrades, Vitals, and local directories like Visit Cedar Park — that’s fewer verification signals.
More sources = more confidence = higher probability of being recommended.
If you serve patients from Cedar Park, Austin, Round Rock, Lakeway, and Leander, but your website only mentions Cedar Park in the footer — you’re invisible for every other city.
AI is location-aware. It recommends businesses with explicit geographic content. A dedicated “Botox in Round Rock” page with unique content doesn’t just help your SEO. It gives AI a city-specific answer to cite.
Here’s exactly what to do, in order of impact. This isn’t theory. This is the framework we’ve used to move med spas from invisible to recommended across all major AI platforms.
Implement JSON-LD structured data across your entire website. At minimum, you need: MedicalBusiness or LocalBusiness schema (business details, location, hours, contact), Service schema for every treatment you offer, FAQPage schema on any page with Q&A content, and AggregateRating schema pulling your Google review data.
This single step can produce visible results in AI recommendations within 2-4 weeks.
Create dedicated FAQ pages for your highest-value treatments. Start with the treatments that drive the most revenue — typically Botox, dermal fillers, body contouring, and laser treatments.
Each page should answer 8-12 of the questions your patients actually ask. Not marketing fluff. Real, specific, factual answers with costs, timelines, recovery expectations, and comparison information.
Add FAQPage schema to every one of these pages.
Build dedicated pages for each city you serve: “Med Spa in Austin,” “Botox in Round Rock,” “Lip Filler in Leander.” Each page needs unique content — not the same page with the city name swapped out. Include local landmarks, directions, and specific information about serving patients from that area.
Get listed on every platform that matters for your industry. For med spas, that means: RealSelf (critical for aesthetics), Healthgrades, Vitals, ZocDoc, Birdeye, local chamber of commerce, local business directories, and any regional aesthetics associations.
Make sure your name, address, phone number, and website URL are identical across every listing.
Complete every single field. Add every service with a description. Upload new photos monthly. Post weekly updates. Respond to every review — positive and negative — within 24 hours.
Your GBP is one of the most important data sources AI tools reference. A complete, active profile dramatically increases your chances of being cited.
Here’s what makes this urgent.
Right now, none of your local competitors are doing this. We’ve checked. Not a single top med spa in Cedar Park has schema markup. Not one has AI-structured FAQ content. The playing field is completely empty.
That means the first med spa to implement LLMO in any Central Texas market will dominate AI recommendations by default. Not because the optimization is complex, but because there is literally no competition.
This is identical to being the first med spa to invest in Google SEO in 2012. The practices that moved first locked in positions that took competitors years and tens of thousands of dollars to challenge.
But here’s the thing about first-mover windows: they close. And once your competitors catch on — and they will — the advantage shrinks dramatically. The cost goes up. The timeline gets longer. The opportunity becomes incremental instead of transformational.
Right now, for a few hundred dollars a month in structured data and content, you can own AI search in your market. A year from now, it could take five times that to get half the result.
Here are conservative numbers for a Cedar Park med spa:
If LLMO brings you just 2 additional new patients per month — and at 4.4x conversion rates, that’s conservative — that’s $7,200/month in new patient lifetime value from Botox alone. Over a year, that’s $86,400 in additional revenue from a channel your competitors haven’t touched yet.
One body contouring case from an AI referral covers your entire marketing investment for months.
